Divers Rescue Sperm Whales [Video]
A herd of sperm whales got tangled in an illegal drifting net… their rescue took two days.
Watch the courageous rescue of a group of two adult and three juvenile sperm whales by the Italian Coast Guard. The whales were entangled in an illegal drifting net used for swordfish. It took two days of cutting their entanglement to free the whales… What is interesting is that the whales seemed to be aware of the fact that they were being helped.
Although only two of the whales were freed on the first day, the group remained together. When the divers returned the following day, they found them patiently waiting with the tangled members of their group..
