Australian Shark Rescue Drones To Save Lives [Video]

Australia is in the process of testing rescue drones to patrol for sharks and save lives.

The “Little Ripper” rescue drone, as it is called is an emergency response drone.  It is a 25kg military device designed to assist coast guards in detecting sharks.  In fact, it can detect sharks better than the naked eye alone and it is capable deploying life safety devices capable of supporting up to three people as well as electronic shark repellent devices.

The use of drones has great potential for use in rescuing distressed swimmers and paddlers as well.  The first Little Ripper has been deployed to beaches in South Whales.  This tool shows great promise for many types of rescue missions.
