10 Unbelievable Ocean Phenomena [Video]

As we all know, our oceans are vast and still somewhat mysterious as presented in the following video.

The following video produced by the BBC highlights 10 incredible ocean phenomena that is sure to capture your attention.  Of the ten, I find that the most amazing phenomena to be the multi organism known as a pyrosome.  These are multi organism colonies of filter feeders. Pyrosomes  are considered harmless and extremely rare.  They can grow upwards of 100 feet in length.  Although they are just  filter feeders and considered harmless… it has has been reported that a penguin was found trapped inside of one.

Recently massive amounts of pyrosomes are mysteriously found in the Pacific off the coast of California.  From California to Alaska pyrosomes are so abundant they are clogging the nets of fishermen. This is an anomaly which scientists are intrigued by.
