Orcas Don’t Attack Humans In The Wild – Why?

Orcas rule the seas, but they are not known to attack humans. Here we take a look at a few possible reasons why orcas don’t attack humans in the wild.
Its generally understood that orcas are not known for attacking humans in the wild. Let me put it another way. There are no known reports of orcas attacking humans in the wild.
The known attacks by orcas have happened in only in captivity and it can be argued that these so called “attacks” were the result of a bit of rough play. Who really knows.
One thing of note is the newly acquired habit of orcas attacking sail boats off the coast of Portugal and Spain. This is a fairly new behavior that has scientists a bit baffled. What’s scary is the fact that orcas are known to be creatures of habit and learned behavior. Therefore, there is the strong likelihood of this becoming a permanent and lasting behavior.
Watch the following video clip below. It does a great job of explaining how orcas behave.
