Journey To The Bottom Of The Ocean Reveals Jaw-Dropping Facts

We all know that that our oceans are mostly unexplored. It is amazing that we know more about the surface of Mars than about the floor of our very own oceans.

A few interesting facts puts things in better perspective.

  • Oceans cover 70% of the Earth’s Surface
  • The average depth of the ocean is about 3.7 kilometers
  • Light penetrates the ocean surface only to a depth of 100 meters. Therefore, most of the Earth exists in total darkness.
  • 94% of all life on Earth lives in water.
  • Dive deeper then 3,500 meters you have a great chance of discovering all manner of debris and garbage as well as new species of life unknown to science.

Fact is, we know little about the planet we live on. The ocean’s depths ( lack of ight and extreme pressures) make its exploration exceptionally difficult. It can be said that it is easier to explore space than the depth of our oceans,

Watch the following video that takes us on a journey to the very depths of the ocean. See what the bottom of the ocean it looks like, what it consists of and what is going on there.
