You Don’t Have To Swim To Scuba Dive – They Couldn’t

Do I have to know how to swim to try scuba diving? – Apparently Not.

Well this question about the ability to swim before trying to scuba dive has been a hot point of discussion. Our previous post about the 7 myths of scuba diving (link below) generated a lot of debate on this one topic.

Apparently the myth is being proven wrong. Non-swimmers can scuba dive!

The video clip below explains and further proves that the ability to swim isn’t an absolute requirement to try scuba diving.

So .. apparently you don’t have to know how to swim to try scuba diving. I always believed that the ability to scuba dive has to do with your comfort level, noore than your ability to swim.

Now having said that. I wouldn’t advise scuba diving without knowing how to swim. But, yes, it is certainly doable. Thoughts?
