The advancement in rebreather technology for scuba diving has resulted in a growing market for recreational rebreather diving over the last ten years. Once used primarily by technical divers, rebreathers are now going more mainstream.

Rebreathers are closed-circuit breathing apparatuses that replace the need for divers to wear oxygen tanks while diving. Rebreathers work by recycling the unused oxygen contained in each breath by removing Carbon dioxide while adding fresh oxygen to replace the oxygen actually used by the diver (4% – 5% of air breathed in).
